Greg L. Schwing, 68, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, in UPMC Shadyside surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Greensburg and was the son of Vivian (Schweitzer) Schwing and the late Donald Schwing. Greg was a member and president elect of the Greensburg Kiwanis Club and its Executive Board of Directors and was on the Executive Board of Director's of TriCity Meals on Wheels. He was also a member of the Westmoreland Masonic Lodge 518, and a member, deacon and elder and of the First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg. Prior to retirement, Greg worked as an assistant regional director in the Department of Labor and Industry for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Robin L. Schwing; three children, Eric Howard and wife, Marisa, Ryan Schwing and Erin Schwing; two grandchildren, Kirsten and Joshua Howard; and sisters, Donna Silvis and Amy O'Connor and husband, John. Honoring Greg's wishes there will be no public visitation. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Jan. 3, 2015, in the First Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Main St., Greensburg, with the Rev. Bobbie Hineline officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by members of VFW Post 33 of Greensburg following the service. Entombment will be in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
