Helen Elizabeth Rosensteel Soles, age 95, died at St. Anne Home in Greensburg on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2010. Born April 5, 1915, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Levi Kemp Rosensteel and Helen Marie Small Rosensteel.
Helen was a 1933 Greensburg High School graduate and a graduate of Duff's Business School in Pittsburgh PA. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by the Pennsylvania Employment Office in Jeannette. During the 1950's and 1960's, she was employed as an X-ray technician by Dr. John F. Maurer, Greensburg radiologist. She was a lifetime member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ. Helen had been a resident of Southwest Greensburg for over 80 years. Helen's hobbies included crocheting, knitting, sewing, and embroidering but her favorite hobby was collecting cookbooks as she loved to cook and bake. She also learned to hand-paint china dishes from her sister, Dorothy.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, John Leonard Soles (1996); daughter Carol Soles Walthour (2007); brother Henry Small Rosensteel (1999); and sister Dorothy Rosensteel Hough (2006).
She is survived by her daughter Linda Soles of Greensburg; son-in-law, The Rev. Fred A. Walthour of Jacobus PA; granddaughter, Heidi Wildasin and husband Dave Wildasin of Mt. Wolf PA; grandson Brian Walthour of Conshohocken PA; and three precious great-grandchildren, Hannah, Nicholas and Emily Wildasin, all of Mt. Wolf PA. Helen is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mazli Deibler Rosensteel of San Diego CA; nieces and nephews Robert Peterson, Patricia Howard, Nancy Woodard, all of Florida; Marty Rosensteel of Mt. Pleasant Iowa; David Rosensteel of Elizabethtown PA; and Michael Rosensteel of San Diego CA.

Family and friends will be received at the Kepple/Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg PA. Visiting hours will be Sunday, November 28, from 2 PM to
5 PM. Additional viewing will be from 10 AM to 11 AM on Monday with Services to follow in the funeral home at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Craft and the Rev. Fred A. Walthour co-officiating. Interment will be in Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg.
