Helen M. (Sanner) Thomas, 93 of Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.
She was born on April 2, 1921 in Greensburg, PA, daughter of the late Samuel S. and Minerva (Wentzel) Sanner.
Helen was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensburg, a member of its United Methodist Women and a charter member of PA Clean Ways Westmoreland Chapter.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Thomas, her sisters, Evelyn Wineman, Mary Smith, Janet Gongaware, Blanche Chatlos, and brother, Richard Sanner.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda S. Riggs, and husband, James and Donna L. Garlisi; grandchildren James P. Riggs, Brad A. Riggs (Corinna), Tracye L. Vaughan (Christian), Paul T. Box, and Michael Garlisi, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Helen's wishes there will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2014 at 11am at the First United Methodist Church 15 E. Second Street, Greensburg with Rev. W. Stephen Morse officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church 15 E. Second Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.
