J. Dorsey McSorley, 83 of Greensburg, passed away, Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Excela Health: Westmoreland Hospital.

He was born November 10, 1930 in Pittsburgh, son of the late William J. and Margaret Dorsey McSorley.

Dorsey was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral where he was an usher for several years. He was also a member of the Knight of Columbus Council 1480 and former member of the Greensburg Kiwanis Club.

He was the owner of McSorley's Restaurant in Greengate Mall and also Dorsey's Place.

Besides his parents, Dorsey was preceded in death by wife, Dorothea J. McSorley on February 28, 2014 and his brothers, Arthur J. and Edward F. McSorley.

Surviving are his son, Gary W. McSorley, of Lumberton, Miss.; daughter, Wendi L. O'Brien, of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Merilee Hawkins, Sherri McSorley, Tina Warden and Tommy McSorley, all of Lumberton, Miss., and Alida Gettemy and Casey O'Brien, of Unity Township; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Anne Sullivan and Rose Marshall; and brothers, Bill, Bob, Tom, George, and Mike McSorley.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street Greensburg. Knights of Columbus Council 1480 will conduct services on Wednesday at 7:30pm in the funeral home.

A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 9am followed by a funeral mass at 9:30am at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.

Interment will take place later Thursday in the Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery (formerly North Side Catholic), in Pittsburgh.
