J. Paul Stewart, age 71, of Greensburg , passed away on June 9, 2013 in Pittsburgh with his family by his side. He was born September 4, 1941 in Wilkinsburg , an only son of the late Joseph B. and Helen R. Stewart. He was a retired employee of Monsour Medical Center , Jeannette. He was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church of Greensburg, Greensburg Lodge 518, Free and Accepted Masons, Syria Temple of Pittsburgh and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh . He was a 1960 graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School and a 1964 graduate of Grove City College . He served from 1966 to 1968 in the Navy as an active duty hospital corpsman, first at Bethesda Naval Hospital and then on the carrier USS Forrestal in Vietnam . He was an avid trap shooter and hunter belonging to Ruffsdale Sportsman's Club and the Police Rod & Gun Club of New Alexandria. He also had a passion for trains, especially garden railroads and was a member of the Pittsburgh Garden Railway Society. He loved to travel in his RV, and bowling with the Strikers League was a favorite way to spend Friday nights. He is survived by his partner and devoted wife of 42 years, Alycefaye (Stewart) Stewart; his only daughter Susan (Rob) Bayne; as well as being a proud Pap-Pap to Joseph and Rory Bayne of Murrysville , PA. nieces ,nephews, and all who loved him. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg with Masonic Services being held at 8:30pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 am in the St. Matthais Lutheran Church, 100 Chapelview Drive, Greensburg with Pastor Paul Gruesu officating. (Everyone please go directly to the church). A masonic service will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Shriners Burn Center , 3229 Burnct Ave. Cincinnati , Ohio 45229.
Visitation: Wednesday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9
Masonic service: Wednesday 8:30 pm
Service: Thursday 10 am at St. Matthais Lutheran Church.
