Jack Kay, 83 of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, August 24 at his home. Born in Bell, PA on June 18, 1927 son of the late William and Janey Kay.
Jack served in the US Army during the Korean War. Graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy in 1958 and worked his entire career as a Pharmacist, becoming Director of Pharmacy at Latrobe Area Hospital. Also served as Adjunct Professor of Pharmacy at University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University. After retiring from the hospital, he became co-owner of Grimm's Drug Store in Ligonier.
Jack was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Greensburg and an avid golfer who frequently shot his age at the Ligonier Country Club.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth, and two brothers William and Joseph .
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Sara (Robinson) Kay whom he married on 1/17/1953 in Savannah, Ga. and two Daughters, Kendall Suprock and husband John of Hinsdale, Illinois, and Valerie Sirignano and husband John of Bay Village, OH, ;Grandchildren, Connor and Brian Suprock, Sara-Louise, Kendall and Carolina Sirignano, and a Brother, Richard Kay, and a Sister, Lillian Binder.
Family and friends will be received Friday 5-8 PM at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Inc. 524 North Main St. Greensburg.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday in the Christ Episcopal Church with Rev. Lawrence Knotts officiating.
