James Bartley

James Paul McGee Bartley, 63, of Greensburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 12, 2010, in Excela Health Westmoreland. He was born October 1, 1946 in Bardstown, KY a son of the late John William and Mary Octavia Cecil Bartley. Jim was an avid gardener and shopper. He enjoyed his retirement from St. George Crystal Ltd and sitting on his porch watching the world go by. Jim and his late wife Beth Ann enjoyed traveling and often went on road trips to the Amish villages throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio to shop and sight-see. Prior to his retirement, Jim was an accountant with Allegheny Energy, Greensburg and a part-time security guard for the former St. George Crystal Ltd. in Jeannette. Jim was a past member of the Junior Order of the United American Mechanics Lodge no. 169 and was a veteran of the US Air Force. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Beth Ann (Jaynes) Bartley and several brothers and sisters. Jim is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and William Armstrong; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Tom Carnes; his niece and her husband, Jennifer and Chris McCool; great niece, Emma McCool; great nephew, Sam McCool. He is also survived by his family in Bardstown, KY including brother, William (Oddie) Bartley and his wife Patsy; sister, Lorraine Downs; sister and brother-in-law, Phoebe and Al Haase of CT; and numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews in and around the Bardstown, KY area. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 N. Main St. Greensburg, on Wednesday from 3 to 7 pm the hour of funeral services with the Rev. Larry Knotts officiating. Private interment will take place in Hillview Cemetery with military honors by the South Greensburg American Legion Post 981. Terence L. Graft, funeral director entrusted with the arrangements.
