James A. Dull, MD, 88 of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away, Monday, July 30, 2012 in Redstone Highlands.
He was born August 9, 1923 in Somerset, PA, son of the late Dr. J. Earl Dull and Edna (Diehl) Dull .
James attended Junita College and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He completed his surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He served on the medical staff at Westmoreland Hospital and Jeannette District Memorial Hospital for thirty five years, and was in practice with Drs. James and Doris Maxwell.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg for more then 50 years and he served as a deacon and elder. James was a member and past president of Mt. View Rotary Club (Gbg), member and past president of Westmoreland Hospital Assoc., member of Westmoreland County Medical Society, member of Westmoreland Hospital Foundation, and a member of the Pittsburgh Surgical Society.
Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, J. Edwin Dull.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary. In addition he is survived by four daughters, Margery Okonak (William) of Latrobe, Nancy Pioli (William) of New York, Janet D. Mason of Greensburg, and Suzi Loechle (Joseph) of Kentucky; grandchildren, David, Brian, and Jonathan Okonak, James, Alissa, and Susan Pioli, Charles and James Mason, Meredith (Bryan) Schapman, and Elizabeth and Jennifer Loechle.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 3 to 7pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 North Main Street Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Friday at 11am with Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating.
