James Lewis Franklin, 91 of Latrobe formerly of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the home of his daughter with his family at his side.
He was born February 20, 1930 in Greensburg a son of the late William and Josephine (Berkey) Franklin.
James was a longtime member and usher at Trinity United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement he worked as a draftsman for Moore & Morford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Veronica Katonka Franklin; his grandson, Ethan; his sisters, Ruth Walroth, Margaret Gettins, Eleanor Layton, and Verna McLean; and brothers, Raymond, Robert, and William Franklin. James was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his two daughters, Sally Jellison and husband James and Susan Capitano and husband Andy; three grandchildren James R. Jellison Jr. and wife, Kelly and Andrew G. and Isabella R. Capitano.
Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Visitors are asked to social distance and to wear masks.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30am in Trinity United Methodist Church 210 W. Fourth Street, Greensburg. Everyone is to go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 W. Fourth St., Greensburg, PA 15601.
