James Laughlin, Jr

James E. Laughlin, Jr., 88 of Greensburg, died, Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Greensburg Care Center, Greensburg. He was born June 8, 1926, in South Greensburg, a son of the late James E., Sr. and Laura M. Thomas Laughlin. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the US Army Air Corp. After working for Peoples Natural Gas Company with 42 years of service, he retired as a legal investigator. James was a member of the Hempfield Church of Christ. He was a past master of Philanthropy Lodge # 225 and belonged to various other masonic organizations. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jane Lehman Laughlin; a sister, Patricia Glover and brother, Donald Laughlin. James is survived by 2 sons, James W. Laughlin (Andrea) of Hanover, PA and Richard W. Laughlin (Mara) of Greensburg; 6 grandchildren, Katie Laughlin, Kristy Doutrich (Joel), J.C. Laughlin, Richard Laughlin, Jr., Elizabeth Laughlin and Olivia Sue Laughlin; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Laughlin of Greensburg. Friends will be received at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Inc., 524 North Main Street Greensburg Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Mike Hazelton officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hempfield Church of Christ, 144 Hugh Black Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
