James Maxwell

James G. Maxwell, 84 of Greensburg, passed away, Saturday, September 10, 2011 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born December 31, 1926 in Pittsburgh a son of the late J. Ross and Elizabeth (DeRosa) Maxwell.
Jim retired from the Network Operations department of the former Bell Atlantic Telephone Company. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Crafton and an associate member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church, Greensburg. Jim also served in the United States Navy during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy L. (Hellmann) Maxwell; a daughter, Donna Lynn Bouchon and a grandson, Benjamin R. Geyser.
He is survived by his wife Vera M. (Hellmann) Maxwell; his three children, Ross G. Maxwell and wife Eileen Lessman Maxwell; Nancy M. Geyser and companion Alan Thompson; Michael J. Maxwell and wife Ranel Jessep Maxwell; two step-children, Richard Sindorf and wife Lee Ann; and Susan M. Spillar and husband William; seven grandchildren, Amanda Geyser; Graham Maxwell; Jacob Maxwell; Justin Sindoif and wife Rosemarie; Meredith Schmadel and husband Francis; Brian Sindorf and wife Jessica; Michael Marnell and wife Amanda; three great-grandchildren, Alexandria Sindorf; Jayce Kohler and Noah Sindorf; a sister, Barbara McLane and husband Charles and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 N. Main St. Greensburg (an Authorized Remembrance Provider) on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10am in St. Matthias Lutheran Church, 100 Chapel View Drive, Greensburg with Pastor Paul Gruesu officiating. (Please go directly to the church). Followed by military services conducted by Greensburg VFW Post 33. Private interment will take place in Chartiers Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Memorials may be made to St. Matthias Lutheran Church, Greensburg, PA 15601 or St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Steuben St. & Lincoln Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Terence L. Graft, Funeral director entrusted with the arrangements.
