James E. McMahan, 76, of Greensburg, died on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 in Melbourne Beach, FL.
He was born May 27, 1939, in Brush Creek, PA, a son of the late Lyda (Schake) McMahan and Nay McMahan.
He was one of the original founders of Z&M Cycle Sales, Greensburg. A member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg. He was an avid golfer, he loved playing in his Mt. Odin Valley Green and ORA golf leagues. He also belonged to the Tuesday Shuffleboard League at the Grapeville Fire Hall. His love for motorcycling and people prompted him in creating the Latrobe Harley Owners Group Chapter, 27 years ago, which is now one of the largest H.O.G. chapters in the country. He shared many miles riding with his loving wife, family, and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda (Houser) McMahan. He was the loving father of Kimberly (Bruce) McMahan/Minich, Latrobe, Kristi Keyser, Pittsburgh, Jim Jr. (Lisa) McMahan, Latrobe; grandfather of Ryan (Nicole) Wingard, Kori (Jake) Rocco, Camryn Wingard, Dax (Alisha) Dillman, Deah (Tuck) Chappel, and Gigi; Great Grandfather of Kailyn, Garin, Caiden, Ayva, Owen, Braylen, Ashley, Luke, Levi, Alexis, Ashton, Aaryn, and Avery; Step granddaughters Carli Minich and Jessica (Matt) Fosnaugh and Great Step Grandson, Miles Fosnaugh. His brothers and sisters; David (Eleanor) McMahan, Rhoda (Harry) Johnston, Merril (Sally) McMahan, Roy (Tracey) McMahan, Ronald "RJ" (Jan) McMahan, Russell McMahan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Adeline Roberts and Helen Steeber and brothers, Donny, Jerry, infant baby boy, and great grandchild, Alayna Chappel.
Friends will be received from 2-8 PM, Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church 1001 Mount Pleasant Road, Greensburg. A private family mass will be held on Thursday at 10am with private interment at Twin Valley Memorial Park.
