James Templeton, Sr

June 6, 1943 — January 7, 2011

James Keith "JK" Templeton, Sr., 67 of Greensburg, passed away, Friday, January 7, 2011 at UPMC Montefiore, Oakland surrounded by his loving devoted family.

Jim was born in Greensburg, June 6, 1943 a son of the late William G. and Alma Houston Templeton.

Jim was a 1961 graduate of Hempfield Area High School and a veteran of the US Marines. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. Jim's greatest pleasures in life were spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. He was an avid hunter and looked forward each year to hunting with his son and brother.

Prior to retirement Jim "JK" was employed for 40 years by Smail Automotive as a salesman. Following retirement, Jim worked at Mt. Odin Golf Course.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Aaring and his mother and father in law, Evelyn and George Evans.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Alice Ann (Evans) Templeton; his devoted children, Becky and husband John Smillie of Greensburg; Jimmy Templeton and wife Stacey of Pittsburgh and Amy Templeton of Greensburg; his four grandchildren whom he adored, Alex and Emma Smillie and James and Livia Templeton; his brother Bill and wife Jackie; a niece, Kathy Templeton Lindamood and many special cousins and friends. His dynamic personality, love of people and kindness awarded Jim a wealth of friends. Jim will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC 524 N. Main St. Greensburg on Monday from 6-8 pm and Tuesday form 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg with Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating. (Please go directly to the church for services.) Interment will take place in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim's memory to the First Presbyterian Church PO Box 1038 Greensburg, PA 15601. Terence L. Graft, funeral director, entrusted with the arrangements.
