Janet Bender

Janet Louise Bender, 78, of Southwest Greensburg, died, Sunday, September 26, 2021, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.  She was born in Greensburg on June 20, 1943, a daughter of the late Louis and Agnes Woomer Garland. Janet worked at Westmoreland Hospital for 25 years. Prior to retirement, she worked as an Outpatient Registration Supervisor. She was a member of Word of Life Church, Greensburg.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading and vacationing.  Janet liked learning about history and was considered a history buff.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Betty Lou; and sisters, Harriet Lasker and Shirley Black; also, stepson Doug Bender.  Janet is survived by her husband, Jack Bender; daughters, Lisa Campagna, Kristen Pinkosky (fiancé, Charles Heckman), Cyndi Wolfe (Matt), Vicki Hewitt; son, Timothy Bender; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; also, 4 nieces and 3 nephews.  Janet’s visitation and services are private.  A memorial service for Janet will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 1pm at Word of Life Church, 4497 State Route 136, Greensburg.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Way, Memphis, TN 38105.  Arrangements are being handled by Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Greensburg.  For online condolences, please visit www.kepplegraft.com
