Janet Lee Keenan

Janet Lee (Wilburn) Keenan, 76, of Fairmont, West Virginia, departed this life in her home and surrounded by her loved ones on January 10, 2024.

She was born on April 16, 1947 in Terra Alta, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Edward Reed "Smoke" Wilburn and Mary Elizabeth Martin.

Janet is survived by her children Matt Speakman, Lisa Wolfe, Christina De Luca and Brian Speakman (Rebecca), her grandchildren Jairus Speakman, Myranda Speakman, Domonick (Speakman) Werdebaugh, Isaac Speakman, Ian Speakman and Ivan Speakman, great-grandchildren Graylyn and Riggs McFarland, her siblings Patty Gidley, Shirley Trompak (John), and Bill Wilburn (Ginger), and many other extended family members and loyal friends.  In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her loving husband, Harry Richard Keenan, and siblings Robert Wilburn, Darwin "Darv" Wilburn, Bonnie (Wilburn) Birurakis and James "Jimmy" Wilburn.

She touched many lives throughout her career working in retail at the Eleanor Shop, Hallmark and JCPenney, and while serving others during her time as a deeply compassionate private duty home health aide for long-term care and hospice patients. Janet enjoyed her retirement years, spending time with her family and her dog, Juliette, and her cats, Basher Wolfe, Jet, Izzy and Baby at the "Mama Kitty" house.  Until his passing, Janet and Harry were faithful members of Zion Lutheran Church in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.  She loved Hallmark movies,  A Christmas Story, John Denver's music, sewing, puzzles, caring for her plants, French vanilla coffee and ginger snap cookies.  She was cherished and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family sincerely appreciates your love and support during this difficult time.  Visitation (10:30am-11:30am) and service (11:30am) will be held January 15, 2024, at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Westmoreland County Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a charity very dear to her heart.
