Janice Emily Watson Dunn, 77 of Greensburg, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014, with her family by her side.
She was born in Greensburg on May 26, 1937, daughter of the late James G. and Emily (Clark) Watson.
Janice was a graduate of Greensburg High School, class of 1955.
She was a sales leader for Sarah Coventry, Dutchmaid, and Santa's Helpers, and spent many years as a housekeeper and caregiver to older friends and neighbors. In recent years, she was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Everyone was welcome in her home, and no one ever left hungry. Janice loved dancing, sewing, crafting, quilting, gardening, cooking, baking, and having fun. Most of all, she loved her Lord, her family, and her friends.
A life-long member in the First Reformed United Church of Christ, Janice taught Sunday school, was a leader in the Women's Guild, served as the "Kitchen Sheriff," helped coordinate the rummage sales, and was a founding member of the "Mission Quilters."
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel Franklin Dunn, son David Matthew Dunn, brother Jack W. Watson, and sister Joetta R. Watson.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Emily Dunn of Greensburg,son, Dennis Mark Dunn of Greensburg, daughter-in-law: Rhonda Sweitzer Dunn; her grandchildren who were the lights of her life: Sonya Nicole (Mark) Trice, Brittany Amber Luczki, Nathan Daniel Dunn; her great-grandson who gave her a reason to fight for one more year, Anson David Luczki; sisters, Jemima Klingensmith, Joyce Long, Judith Murkerson, Luecille Kaylor, and Edna Terhorst , brothers-in-law: James (Barbara) Dunn and William (Nancy) Dunn, sisters-in-law: Eva Mae (Wendell) Summy and Betty Jean Stine, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, her church family, and friends beyond counting.
Special thanks to Janice's friends since junior high: Edith Albright, Mary Jane George, Dorothy Omelite, and Sue Scandalito.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.
Services will be held on Monday at 11am at the First Reformed United Church of Christ, Greensburg with Rev. Steve Craft officiating.
