Janice C. "Jan" Jamison, 92, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, in the Senior Independence Hospice at Redstone Highlands. She was born Jan. 22, 1923, a daughter of the late Thomas R. Crawford and the late Mildred S. Crawford.
Jan is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John M. "Jack" Jamison, of Greensburg; her son, John R. Jamison and wife, Angel, of Greensburg; daughters, Ellen Benek and husband, Bob, of Polk, and Ann Jamison and partner, Joy McBride, of Bend, Ore. Jan was beloved by her six grandchildren, Mentha Benek, Tessa Benek, Galina Benek, Heather Benek, Logan Benek and Shannon Jamison Howard (husband, Curt); and a great-granddaughter, Ismey Howard.
Jan was a graduate of Grove City College and had been a teacher in the Moon, Grove City and Latrobe Area school districts. She loved the theater and directed plays during her teaching career. Whether with friends, at a bridge game, or relaxing with family, Jan's quick wit and sense of humor were appreciated by all. She was passionately devoted to her family and prepared wonderful meals for many family gatherings. Her cooking style was "adder no matter" with exceptional results.
