Jeanne Lee Solomon

Jeanne L. Solomon, GySgt, 77 of Goldsboro, North Carolina, passed away, Friday, October 20, 2023.

She was born March 10, 1946 in McKees Rocks, PA, a daughter the late of Albert N. Hopfer and Lavenia Fae Kemmler Marnell.

Jeanne was a veteran having served in the Marines for 13 years. She earned her masters degree in Adult Education Counseling and in Child Development and Marriage and Family Therapy. For six years she was a social worker, family and child therapist and parent educator for Baptist Children’s Homes of NC. Jeanne had been a full-time therapist at Family Works Psychological Center since 2005. She will be remembered for her generous and caring nature.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Ethel Smith Hopfer and a step-sister, Linda Bradish.

Jeanne is survived by her brother, Albert N. Hopfer III; her sister, Marjory DeFloria and husband, John; her step-siblings, Daisy Reynolds Aller and husband, Dan, David Smith and wife, Peggy, Tootsie Wakley and husband, Jim, John Smith and wife, Sue, Susan Newcamp and husband, Mark, and Sally Sell and husband, Jeff; her nieces and nephews, John R. Tapper Jr., Melanie Jones, Kevin Tapper, Maggie Hopfer France and Albert Hopfer IV and several step-nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jeanne's family would like to extend a special thank you to her dear friend, Danielle.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 29th from 5 to 7pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg, PA.

Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, October 30th at 10am.

Interment will follow with military honors in the Youngwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots.
