Joann Arena

JoAnn (Hoyle) Arena, 78 of Greensburg, passed away  Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital after several years of failing health.

She was born August 23, 1942 in Greensburg, the daughter of the late Harold H. and Grace S. Hoyle.

Before retirement, she had worked for a sewing factory in Youngwood and later at Parkwood Restaurant and Persichetti's Restaurant. In JoAnn's better years, she enjoyed the beach, gardening, decorating, flea markets, and spending time with her daughter Lisa and grandchildren, Tyler and Halie. She was a selfless, quiet, and compassionate person who always gave of  herself to help her family members and other in times of crisis and need.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, William, Donald, and Roy Hoyle; and her sister, Nancy (Hoyle) Veitch.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Arena) Byerly and husband, Scott; and her grandchildren, Tyler and Halie Byerly, a sister in law, Kay Hoyle and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 4 to 7pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:30pm with Rev. Steven L. Craft officiating.

Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park, Greensburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can  be made to the First Reformed United Church of Christ 312 S. Maple Avenue, Greensburg, PA 15601.
