JOHN M JAMISON

John M. “Jack” Jamison, 92, of Greensburg passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 in the Senior Independence Hospice at Redstone Highlands. He was born February 22, 1924, the son of the late Dr. John M. Jamison and the late Mary M. Jamison. Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Janice C. “Jan” Jamison and a sister, Mary Louise Henschel. Jack is survived by his son, John R. Jamison and wife, Angel, of The Villages, FL; daughters, Ellen Benek and husband Bob, of Polk, PA; and Ann Jamison and partner, Joy McBride of Bend, OR. Jack was beloved by his six grandchildren, Mentha Benek, Tessa Benek, Galina Benek, Heather Benek, Logan Benek, and Shannon Jamison Howard (husband, Curt); and a great granddaughter, Ismey Howard.  Jack was a graduate of Grove City College and a U.S. Army veteran who witnessed the atomic bomb testing at Bikini Atoll. He last worked at Westinghouse in Blairsville as the Manager of Sales, for which he was recognized with many awards for exceptional sales performance. At retirement, his customers praised him for his forthright approach and high degree of integrity. He was passionately devoted to his family, spent time either at Treasure Lake or in Florida, enjoyed golf and was an avid and productive gardener. Jack Jamison truly epitomized “a member of the Greatest Generation”. There will be no public visitation and all services will be private. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Redstone Highlands Benevolent Care at 126 Matthews Street, Suite 2800, Greensburg PA 15601.
