John R. Noel, 86 of Greensburg, passed away, Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Greater Pittsburgh.
He was born May 8, 1929 in Lycippus, a son of the late John and Alma (Shumar) Noel.
Jack was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Greensburg. He was a life member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, a member of the Great Pennsylvania Regional Council of Carpenters, and with his wife a member of Compassionate Friends. Jack is a veteran of the Airforce. Jack enjoyed horse races, dog races, casinos, playing cards, and spending time with his granddaughter, Dani.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana M. Noel, and siblings, Marie, Dorothy, Ward, and Tom.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Irene (Brosnick) Noel; daughter, Debi Willcock (Bob Sofaly), his one and only granddaughter, Danielle Willcock (Alan Johnson); sister, Jane Lawrence, in-laws, Pauline, Russ, Al, and Rose, numerous nieces and nephews; and Pappy's pets, Cooper and Paris.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 1st from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.
A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 9am. A funeral mass will follow at 9:30am at Our Lady of Grace Church 1001 Mt Pleasant Rd, Greensburg.
Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 33 of Greensburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging, 305 Chamber Plaza, Charleroi, PA 15022.
