Joseph Auciello, Jr., 87 of Greensburg passed away on Monday August 29, 2011 in the Redstone Highlands - Murrysville.
He was born in Welch, WVa on February 3, 1924, the eldest child of the late Joseph and Alice Auciello.
A proud WWII veteran, Joe enlisted in the Army in December 1942 and served in Central Europe with the 12th Armored Division. He earned the American Theatre Ribbon, EAME Theatre Ribbon with two bronze stars, and the Victory Medal World War II before his honorable discharge in 1946.
Joe earned a degree in Business from Marshall University in Huntington, WVa and worked for over 37 years in the consumer packaged goods and food industries in sales, supervisory and account executive positions before his retirement in 1986.
He had been a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg for over 50 years. Joe enjoyed playing the violin, golfing and traveling in the US and overseas. His greatest life achievement was his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joe was preceded in death in April 2011 by his loving wife of over 61 years, Faye Evelyn Auciello and his brother Ernie Auciello.
Surviving are his children: Kay E. Auciello of San Francisco, CA; John J. Auciello and wife (Debra) of Export, PA; and Mike Auciello and wife (Michele) of Downingtown, PA. Also survived by 4 grandchildren: Jon, Bryan and wife (Kelly), Greg, and Dave as well as 2 great grandchildren: Carter and Bryce. Survived by his sisters, Lucy Auciello and Alice Auciello of Charlottesville, VA and Carmel Auciello Lawlor of Irvine, CA.
Family and Friends will be received on Saturday from 8:15 am till 9:00 am at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Prayer services will follow immediately in the funeral home at 9:00 am with military services accorded by the VFW Post #33 to follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
