Joseph Nayock, 85, of Crabtree, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at his residence.
He was born October 25, 1925 to Joseph Nayock and Nettie (Hershey) Orsion.
Joseph was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Crabtree. He was an avid bowler, a former Boy Scout Leader and Little League Coach. Joseph was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in both WWII and also in the Korean Conflict. He earned 42 medals including the Silver Star. Joseph retired from Woodward's Foundry in 1981.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Marilyn Nayock.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Anna L.Nayock of Crabtree; two sons, Michael and wife Lorie, of ME, James and wife Cathy, Tunnelton, PA; a daughter Kathleen Govora and husband Daniel, of Greensburg; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; a brother Lou Orison, three sisters, Esther Williams, Elsie Boyer and Jenny Ackley, all of who are from Burgettstown, PA; two cousins, Ellen Sberna of WV; and Joseph Koluder and wife Nancy of Youngwood.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC. (an authorized remembrance provider), 524 N. Main St., Greensburg.
Services will be held Friday at 10 AM at St. Bartholomew Church, 2538 Route 119, Crabtree, PA with Father Leon Hont, OSB officiating.
Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park with military honors by VFW Post 33.
