Joseph John “Joe” Pallitta, 88, of Greensburg, died peacefully, Friday, April 29, 2022, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Greensburg on March 18, 1934, a son of the late John Jay and Livia Iezzi Pallitta. Joe served in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and actually went into Cuba for reconnaissance. Prior to retirement he was co-owner of Universal Coach of Greensburg and was very proud to sell and ship a truck cap to a customer in Saudi Arabia. He was a creative engineer and held three patents. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg where he was a former deacon and elder. Joe loved to fish, hunt, read history and travel internationally with his wife. He enjoyed fine dining, especially Italian food that included pasta. He also was a member of the Road Kings Car Club of Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Joseph, Jr. and sister-in-law, Jane Pallitta. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Irwin Pallitta; daughter, Livia Pallitta Fitch (fiancé, Dean Smith); son, Albert Bryan Pallitta; brother, Nicholas “Nick” Pallitta; grandchildren, Kyle Joseph Fitch (Megan) and Kelly Louise Fitch (fiancé, Jesse); and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. A funeral service for Joe will be held on Friday at 11 am in First Presbyterian Church, 330 South Main Street Greensburg with Rev. Dr. Martin Ankrum officiating. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery.
