Joseph S. Rudolph, 94, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Westmoreland Hospital.
He was born in 1920 in New Port, R.I. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg. He was a retired chemist for Westinghouse. Joseph was a veteran of World War II. He attained the rank of second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. He was a B- 24 bomber pilot for more than 35 combat missions in the European Theater.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Spinelli) Rudolph, of Greensburg; three sons, James Rudolph, of Clearwater, Fla., Dr. Joseph Rudolph and wife, Barbara, of South Park, and Dr. Lawrence Rudolph and wife, Bianca, of Greensburg; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
By the family's request, there will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
Entombment will be held in St. Clair Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 33 of Greensburg.
