Karen S. (Brown) Cramer, 76, of Jeannette, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2023 in the Elizabeth Seton Memory Care Center in Greensburg, PA. She was born on August 26, 1947 in Columbus, OH, a daughter of the late Richard and Marjorie Kreis Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son; Andrew K. Cramer. She is survived by her loving husband, John; a son Benjamin and his wife Christy; a daughter-in-law, Janice Cramer; a granddaughter, Julia; four grandsons, Henry, Cole, Owen and Hugo Cramer; a brother, Charles Brown and his wife Kathy; a sister, Kristin Lloyd and her husband Greg; and seven nieces and nephews.
Karen earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Ohio University in 1969 where she met her future husband, John. After receiving a master’s degree in library science Karen worked as a librarian completing her career as a cataloger at the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library for 29 years, retiring in 2017. She was instrumental in the conversion of the library’s card catalog format to its digital computerized system.
Karen was known for her kind, generous, and unassuming spirit and her unquestionable devotion and loyalty to her husband John and her sons Ben and Andy. By her faith in the grace and mercy of Christ as her Redeemer and Savior, Karen bravely met the challenges of her disease for seven years. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Elizabeth Seton Memory Care Center for their kind and compassionate care of Karen.
Family and friends are welcome Sunday September 3, 2023 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg PA 15601.
