Katherine Irvin

Katherine (Kay) D. Irvin, 89 of Greensburg, passed away, Monday, February 23, 2015.

She was born on August 2, 1925 in Connellsville daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Chatsko) Duncan .

Kay graduated from Dunbar Township High School in 1943. After marrying, Kay moved to the Alle-Kiski Valley, living in Lower Burrell for six years and Freeport for 20 years where she served as president of the Rosary Society of Blessed Sacrament Church and Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Tarentum. Kay moved to Greensburg in 1975 and became a member of Our Lady of Grace Church. At the church she was a former eucharistic minister, member of the Rosary Society, the St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Youthful Seniors, and was Past Regent of Court Seton C. D. of A, Greensburg.

Katherine loved to play bridge and belonged to several bridge and 500 clubs. She also enjoyed the game of golf.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Paul F. Irvin, sister, Rita Magni, a brother, Edward Thomas Duncan, and a son-in-law, James "Ronnie" Bell.

Surviving are her daughters, Catherine Maureen Cramer and husband Paul of Trafford and Diane Marie Bell of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Kevin (Jessi) Cramer, Kelly (Adam) Halbrock, Michael, Tara, and Christopher O'Neill; and two great grandchildren, Haleigh Halbrock and Henry Cramer.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg, PA. where Prayers of Transfer will be offered on Friday at 9:30 am followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, Pa 15626.
