Kenneth Shaffer

Kenneth B. Shaffer, 81 of Greensburg, passed away, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in Redstone Highlandsin Greensburg.
He was born June 8, 1931 in Greensburg , son of the late Vernonn J. and Morris H. Shaffer .
Kenneth was a graduate of Hurst High School Class of 1949, St. Vincent College in 1953, and earned his Masters Degree from University of Pittsburgh. Kenneth started his teaching career at Painterville Schooland later Harrold Junior High Schoolfor 39 years. He focused on French and Social Studies and was active in the drama department. He was a former church organist at Norvelt Union Church, Maplewood Presbyterian Church, and Otterbein United Methodist Churchand was a former choir member of Latrobe Presbyterian Church.
Besides his parents, Kennethwas preceded in death by his wife, Helen Shafferin 1997 and brothers, Robert and Richard Shaffer.
Surviving are his stepsons, Lemuel E. Sentzof Stanley, ID and Terry A. Sentz and wife, Debbie of Felton, PA, sister, Nancy Shaffer Ramseyand husband, Earl of Duluth, GA; grandchildren, Ben and Rachel Sentz, several nieces and nephews,Dr. Robert Shaffer, Sherry Anderson, Richard Shaffer, Randy Shaffer, Susan Jellison, Barbara Wright, Lisa Cooper.
Family and friends will be receivedon Sunday 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 North Main Street Greensburgwhere services will be held on Sunday at 4 pm with Rev. Clark Kerr officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday
at Round Hill Presbyterian Cemetery in Cross Roads, PA.
