Laura Wilkinson, 36, of Greensburg, originally of Raccoon Township, Beaver County, departed this life Sunday, March 15, 2015.
She was born Dec. 30, 1978, in Rochester, daughter of Gary Charles Vandergrift, of Raccoon Township, and Mary Jane Vandergrift, of Monaca.
Surviving her is her loving husband, Jay R. Wilkinson and children, Bo, Merryweather, Alice and Sunny. She leaves behind parents, Mary Jane and Gary Vandergrift; in-laws, Jay and Susan Wilkinson; siblings, Sean Vandergrift, Kirsten Novello, and twin sister, Rachel McDermott; brother-in-law, Andrew and girlfriend, Laura Wagner; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Laura graduated from Hopewell High School, class of 1997. In high school, she was a member and officer of the Conservation, Fishing and Hunting Club, which shaped many of her core values leading her to gain a Bachelor of Arts in environmental chemistry from St. Vincent College. She made her lifelong career at the college, working in environmental and science arenas, helping to educate many young minds. Her family and friends will forever remember her love of family, friends and the outdoors and for her beautiful smile.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015, at the Basilica at St. Vincent University in Latrobe. Family will receive friends following the services from 4 to 5 p.m. in the assembly room of the church.
