Lawrence Bane

Lawrence M. (Larry) Bane, 82 of Greensburg, passed away, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Greensburg Care Center. He was born September 30, 1931 in Washington a son of the late Wilbur and Alice (Moyer) Bane.

Larry was a retired manual arts therapist having been employed by the Veteran's Administration Hospital. He was a veteran of the US Navy Seabees serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg and graduated from California High School and the former California State College. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and was a talented wood craftsman. Larry also enjoyed tending to his garden and cherished time spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Ahlborn) Bane; his two daughters, Linda DeMase (Keith Butler) and Leslie Bane; two grandchildren, Nick DeMase (Erin) and Mya DeMase; and a great granddaughter, Aubrey DeMase.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 N. Main St. Greensburg. Additional visitation will take place on Saturday from 10 until 10:30 am in the First United Methodist Church, 15 E. Second Street, Greensburg where Larry's funeral service will begin at 10:30 am with his pastor, Rev. W. Stephen Morse officiating. Private interment will take place in St. John's Union Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of one's choice.
