Lawrence Mendicino

Lawrence  P. “Larry” Mendicino, 71, of Greensburg died Monday, January 18, 2021 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born in New Kensington on May 9, 1949, a son of the late Michael and Angelina Martone Mendicino.  He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg.  Prior to retirement, he worked 38 years as a claim specialist for State Farm Insurance.  Larry enjoyed golfing, fishing, baking and watching Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Penguins.  He also enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels, traveling and family vacations.  Larry loved spending time with his pride and joy, his granddaughter, MacKenzie.  Larry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother and was loved by his family and his extended family in the Philippines.   He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carmelita Dane Mendicino; his daughter, Kaila Mendicino (Sean); granddaughter, MacKenzie Shaulis; his siblings, Michael Mendicino (Sheila), Marianne Snyder (Keith), Barbara Isaac (Glenn), Daniel Mendicino (Michelle) and Patricia Young (David); also, numerous nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.  A funeral mass for Larry will be held on Saturday at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Church.  Please everyone go directly to church.  All guests are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.  Private interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tri-City Meals on Wheels, P.O.
