Lawrence McKee Smith of Greensburg, PA passed away peacefully at his home on January 9, 2016. He was 63 years old.

Larry was a lifelong resident of Greensburg. He graduated from Greensburg Salem High School and from St. Leo's College in Tampa, FL where he attended on a golf scholarship and graduated with a BA in Business in 1974.

Larry lived life to the fullest and was a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas McKee Smith. He is survived by his children: Sara Smith Barton of Plymouth, MI., her husband Jason, and their daughter Gillian Mae, and Molly McKee Holway of Stamford CT, her husband Patrick, and their daughters McKee Marie and Evy Rose. He is also survived by his mother, Kathryn (Kitty) Smith and his sister, Jane Clark and husband, Mark, from Greensburg and his brother, Michael Smith and wife, Lori, from Glen Mills, PA and their families.

While he had many interests, Penn State and Steelers football prominent among them, his primary love in life was golf. He was widely known in the golf community and considered by all as a true gentlemen and ambassador for the sport. An excellent golfer in his own right, he was the proud son of Tommy Smith a long-time amateur champion from the 1930s until 1998.

Thank you to all he knew and loved for your support. We are forever grateful to his dear friends Jerry and Barb Bee, who brought him joy, smiles, comfort, and love until his passing.
