Lloyd Frances Altman, 77 of Greensburg, passed away and entered the loving hands of our Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.
He was born November 4, 1936 in Greensburg to the late Charles and Sarah (Croushore) Altman .
Lloyd was raised in Bovard and graduated from Greensburg Salem High School in 1956.
Prior to retirement, Lloyd was a printer by trade and worked for well known printing companies in the Greater Greensburg area. His keen eye for detail, love of profession and willingness to teach others made him a distinguished professional craftsman throughout his long career. He also served as a volunteer fireman, coached youth sports and was a member of numerous sportsmans clubs. Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast spending his leisure time hunting and fishing with family members and friends throughout Westmoreland County. Lloyd always enjoyed following the Pittsburgh sports teams; Pirates, Penguins, and of course his Pittsburgh Steelers. His love for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who lovingly called him " Pap" was evident in his caring eyes and spirited laugh as he cherished watching them grow up.
Lloyd Frances Altman was blessed with a benevolent and warm heart. When a helping hand was needed his hand was the first to be held out. When a kind word was required he was first to provide one. Lloyd's kind and charitable nature always provided many positives. For this, he will be remembered and sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
