Lois R. Schindehette

Lois Roemer Schindehette, age 94, of Zelienople, PA passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Passavant Retirement Community.  She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September  21, 1929, the daughter of the late John C. Roemer and Helen (McKernan) Roemer. She is also predeceased by her high school sweetheart and husband of 67 years, Ernest W. Schindehette, Jr. Lois and Ernie graduated from Langley High School in 1948 and together they chaired their class reunion committees until the 65th high school reunion in 2013.  Despite early aspirations to be a nurse, Lois’ career primarily focused on bookkeeping. She earned an Associates degree from Community College of Allegheny County and attended Carlow College. She enjoyed following the stock market and belonged to several investment organizations throughout her life.  She was a member of First English Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh, PA and volunteered in many of their downtown ministries. She served on the Board of Lutheran Senior Life for several years and during her tenure, Crown Pointe Senior Living Community in Greensburg PA was opened. Along with Ernie, she was a delivery volunteer with the Greensburg PA Meals on Wheels.  Lois enjoyed gardening, knitting, golf, and reading. Lois is survived by her daughters, Karen Kaeser (Scott) of West Hartford CT, and Denise Sticha (Larry Jump) of State College, PA; grandchildren, Elizabeth Kaeser (Jacob Hale Russell), Phil Sticha (Andrea), Julianne Sticha, Jack Sticha, and great-grandchildren, August Hale Kaeser, Eliana Sticha, Thomas Sticha and Luca Laughner; her sister, Ruth Graff of Port St Lucie FL, and several nieces and nephews. A private memorial service and internment at First English Evangelical Lutheran Church will be held at the convenience of the family.
