Louise Bashour

November 13, 1924 — June 15, 2012

Louise Charley Bashour went to be with her Lord Friday, June 15, surrounded by her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James A. Charley, Frederick J. Charley, and William M. Charley, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Charles Allen Bashour (Janie) of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Sara Louise Klinke (Preston) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Mary Ann Randolph (Mark) of San Antonio, Texas, and her eleven grandchildren whom she adored: Dr. Margaret Ann Klinke Mays (Benjamin), Michael Samuel Bashour, John Preston Klinke,III, Kathryn Ann Bashour, William Allen Klinke, Caroline Louise Bashour, Mary Louise Randolph, Louise Grace Klinke, Sara Wilder Randolph, James Peyton Randolph, and Carolyn Grace Randolph.

Louise was born to Rebecca and Michael Charley in Derry, Pennsylvania and raised in Greensburg. She earned a B.A. in Biology from Dickenson College in 1946. She received training from Miss Conley's School for Young Women in Pittsburgh and worked as an Executive Secretary at U.S. Steel Corporation.

After marrying, Louise settled in Irving, Texas, where she lovingly raised her family and joyfully contributed countless hours of service to her community. She was a member of St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church. She was Past President of Irving Women's Club and an active member of Irving Heritage Society, Book Review Club, Irving Medical Society Auxillary and the Irving Symphony League. Louise always treasured her time with her children and beloved grandchildren. She spent many enjoyable days with her lifelong friends at the bridge table and with the Tortugas on the tennis court. Strength, dignity and grace were the hallmarks of her character. She was generous in her love for others and was cherished by family and friends.

A private family burial will be held at Saint Clair Cemetery in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 13 at 2 p.m. at St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church in Irving, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, 1621 West Grauwyler Road, Irving, Texas 75061 or Irving Symphony Orchestra, 225 E. John Carpenter Fwy, Suite#120, Irving, Texas 75062.
