Louise Hamwey

Louise Berny Hamwey, 90, of Greensburg passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, May 15, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 20, 1926 in Boston, Mass., a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Berny.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, Greensburg. Prior to retirement, she was an executive secretary for Bechtel Power Corporation of Los Angeles, CA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Hamwey; and brothers, Stephen and George Berny. Louise is survived by her children, Mike (Amy) Hamwey, Larry (Mia) Hamwey and Joy Hamwey; and the lights of her life, her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; also, her sister Joyce Casacky.
Visitation will be at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, 1182 Ashland Street, Greensburg, PA on Wednesday, May 17 from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, with Trisagion Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 18 at 10:30 AM in the church. Interment will be in Whittier, CA.
