Margaret Kirchner

Margaret (Peg) Jean Kirchner of Greensburg passed away at the age of 89 on Wednesday, December 21st 2022 after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born September 6th,1933, Margaret was the daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Stough) Black. Margaret was a dedicated Registered Nurse who spent over 40 years bringing babies into the world on the labor/delivery floor of Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. In her freetime, she enjoyed sewing, making ceramics, baking, swimming and following the Pittsburgh Pirates. She loved to listen to music and you could often hear her humming away to the radio. Her smile and laugh will always be remembered by those who knew it. She helped many people in her lifetime, but always kept it a secret due to her humble nature. In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, sisters, Mary Beamer and Sara Woodward. She is survived by her children, Karen (Paul) Bossart, Kathleen (Patrick) Fabian and Kevin (Angela) Kirchner. She is survived by her siblings, Janet (Roger) Maggi, David (Elaine) Black, William (Lorraine) Black, Arthur (Joann) Black, Hugh (Judy) Black and Betty (Robert) Moffat. She is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received Thursday, January 12th from 3pm until the time of service at 5pm at KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home located at 524 N Main St, Greensburg, PA 15601.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
