Margaret Mccarthy

Margaret 'Peggy' J. McCarthy, 89 of Greensburg, Hempfield Township passed away, Thursday, September 23, 2021.

She was born September 3, 1932 in Herminie, a daughter of the late Vincent and Rose S. (Serro) Andrewson.

Margaret was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church in Greensburg. She was an avid Pitt Panther fan. Peggy enjoyed gardening and playing Mahjong, golf, and bridge.

Prior to retirement, she worked as a Administrative Assistant  for West Penn Power.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her, husband, Homer T. McCarthy; brothers, Robert and Donald Andrewson; and sister, Marge Zdravecky.

Surviving are her son,  Kevin McCarthy and wife Theresa of Greensburg; daughters,  Karen Minick and husband, Tom of Mt. Pleasant and Kathy Gillen and husband, Bob of Cannonsburg; five grandchildren,  Everett and Marcus McCarthy, Karli Minick, Tara and Samantha Gillen; sister, Shirley Bailley of Irwin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 26th from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, September 27th at 11am.

Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park, Greensburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Westminister Presbyterian Church 1120 Harvey Avenue, Greensburg, PA 15601.
