Marjorie Myers

Marjorie Newill Myers, 101, of Greensburg, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at her home. She was born on October 26, 1913 in Mt. Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late Hattie Newill Faith and William A. Faith. Marjorie was a lifelong member of the Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren, Mt. Pleasant, PA. She graduated from Indiana Normal School in 1935, now known as Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to retirement in 1978, she was an elementary school teacher in the Mt. Pleasant and Norwin School Districts. She was a life member of the Westmoreland, Pennsylvania and National Education Associations. Also, Marjorie was a member of the Posey Patch Garden Club. In addition to her mother and stepfather, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Myers in 1994; a sister, Gwendolyn Newill Blaine and half- brother, Gerald Faith. She is survived by her son, James Newill Myers of Greensburg; also, a niece and a number of nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 PM at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. Additional viewing will be held on Friday from 10 AM until Marjorie's funeral service at 10:30 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Lee Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren, 494 E. Main Street, Route 31, Mt. Pleasant, PA.
