Mary T. Volker, 85 of Greensburg, passed away, Thursday, December 6, 2012 in Excela Health: Westmoreland Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born April 17, 1927 in Weedville, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Lanzel) Krellner.
Mary was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and the Friday Music Club. She was an accomplished violinist and proudly performed in various symphonies. Mary was an, expert in Chamber Music. Along with teaching at Seton Hill University in their music department, she had hundreds of past students that she gave personal instruction in their music development. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James F. Krellner and a sister, Betty J, Krellner.
Surviving are her husband, David J. Volker, son, Brian J. Volker of Clarion, daughter, Karen E.Volker Martin and husband, Tom of Erie Pa, a niece Dr. Susan E. Gorman of Atlanta, Ga, a sister, Mrs. William" Alice" Gorman of St. Mary's, Pa.
four grandchildren, Amy Volker Vikara, Amanda Volker Popelas, Mary Elizabeth Martin and Joseph Martin, two great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday 2 - 6pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 North Main Street Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
A prayer service will be held on Monday in the funeral home a 9 am followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 am at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in St. Mary's, Pa.
