Nancy Virginia Hill Jousson, 87, of Greensburg formerly of Pottstown, PA died on Thursday, May 31, 2012 In the Westmoreland Hospital. Mrs. Jousson was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Alverton , daughter of the late Walter and Mary Brownfield Hill. Nancy was a 1942 graduate of the former East Huntingdon High school. Her young Christian life was spent in the Center Bethel Church of God in Alverton and Nancy was active in Christian Endeavor. Nancy was employed with Robertshaw Thermostat, then as a teletype operator in Allegheny Airport, Pittsburgh then as one in Denver, CO. Upon marriage to Gaston Jousson in 1961, Nancy moved to the Hill School in Pottstown. In Pottstown, Nancy was an active member of the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ. She and Gaston spent summers at their home on Rust Pond , Wolfeboro, N.H. Nancy was an employee for 22 years at the Wolfeboro Camp School in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. She served as Assistant Head of School, a member of the Board of Directors and secretary of the School corporation. Her footprint is stamped into all phases of school operations, policies and plant. Mr. William Cooper, retired Head of School, stated, "Nancy was my personal confidant. Her style, grace and dignity set a tone and standard that carries on today at Wolfeboro. Her sensitivity to the needs of students and staff was unparalleled; her shadow reaches all corners of the campus". In most recent years, Nancy has lived in Greensburg and was currently residing at Newhaven Court Assisted Living. She became a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg when moving from Pottstown.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston in 2001 and sister, Jane Herr in 2008. She is survived by stepdaughter, Heidi(Jeff) Fitch of Roseburg, OR and Trudi Jousson of Maine, a sister Dorothy Neidley and husband John of Cornwall and niece Susan (Gerald) Barnhart of Acme, Niece, Marcia(Jim)Lynch of Fairfax, VA and nephew, Elliott Neidly of Rucksersville, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 North Main Street Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Additional visitation will be held Monday from 10-11am at Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton where services will be held at 11am with Rev. Keith Solomon officiating.
Interment will follow in the Alverton Cemetery.
