Neil Shellhammer

Neil E. Shellhammer, 86 of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Latrobe Regional Health and Rehab. Center.
He was born Saturday, January 20, 1923 in Apollo, Son of the late Carlton and Mabel Shellhammer.
Neil had served in the US Coast Guard during WW II abroad an LST in the South Pacific and was a Lifetime member of the VFW Post 33 and a member of Fox Hill Club.
Prior to his retirement he worked for US Steel at the Irvin Works and also did plastering work.
He had been Catholic by faith.
Neil was preceded in death besides his parents by his wife, Helen (Stanko) Shellhammer three sisters Mildred Evans Vivian Shamberger, and Audrey Soska..
Surviving are a son Randall J. Shellhammer a daughter Rebecca A. Shellhammer both of Greensburg his sisters Ozelma Fouse of Dundalk, MD, and Joyce Grantz of Apollo and his brothers Lyle Shellhammer , James Shellhammer both of Home, Pa. and Allen Shellhammer of Shelocta and a number of nieces and nephews. .
Family and Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main St. Greensburg.
Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, at 4:00 PM with Rev. Marty Wright officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Clair Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial donations be made to one's favorite charity.
