Norma Louise (Bailey) McLean, 92, of Greensburg, formerly from Monroeville, peacefully passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, with her devoted husband of 66 years by her side.
She is survived by her husband, Orison S. McLean, Ph.D.; son, Orison McLean Jr.; daughter, Nancy and her husband, Richard Brickley, M.D.; and son-in-law, Michael Cox, formerly married to deceased daughter, Susan. She will also be greatly missed by her loving grandchildren, Julie and husband Mark, Matthew and wife Kristin, Michelle, Brian, Mack and Elizabeth, and her adorable great-grandsons, Mason, Axel, Austin and Logan. Norma is also survived by beloved brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Elaine Bailey; and nieces and nephews.
Norma cherished and adored her family. She was vice-president of her 1940 high school class in McKeesport. Also, she earned a precious academic scholarship to Chatham University (previously known as PCW), from which she graduated. Norma was often asked to speak at functions, loved to write letters and poetry, and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and a Brownie leader. She belonged to the Monroeville United Methodist Church.
A celebration to honor Norma's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, in the Redstone Highlands Chapel in Greensburg. Memorials for Norma may be sent to the Redstone Benevolent Care Fund, in care of Lisa Dormire, 6 Garden Center Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601.
