Norma Jean, 84 of Greensburg passed away on November 2, 2022 at the Hempfield Manor. She was born in Herminie on February 22, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Russell and Hazel Ingraham Veverka. Prior to her retirement she had worked for three different Tax Collectors before becoming the Tax Collector of South Greensburg Borough for eight years. Norma was a graduate of North Huntingdon High School class of 1956. She was a member of the South Greensburg United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Adult Fellowship, taught Sunday School, was director of the Cherub Choir and active with the Youth Group of the church. She was a longtime volunteer for Tri City Meals on Wheels. Norma also had attended the First Reformed United Church of Christ in Greensburg. In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased by her first husband, George Stofko and her second husband, Richard Truxal, two brothers David Veverka and Ronald and his wife, Roberta Veverka. Norma is survived by her daughter, Paula (Rick) Hildenbrand and granddaughter, Brooke; her brother, Rick (Margie) Veverka; a sister-in-law, Paula Veverka; several nephews, nieces and cousins whom she loved very much. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Bev (Rick) Bortz, Jay (Darlene) Truxal, Lori (Tammi Bentley) Hughes and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg with private interment in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Greensburg United Methodist Church, 411 Sheridan Avenue, Greensburg, PA 15601 or Westmoreland County Special Olympics, 135 Clelian Heights Lane, Greensburg, PA 15601.
