O. Pat Elder Jr., 86 of Greensburg passed away on 9/17/10 in Excela Jeannette Hospice.
He was born Tuesday, January 1, 1924 in Greensburg, Son of the late Oliver P. and Susan Momeyer Elder .
Pat served in the Navy during WW II serving on an LCT as an electrician.
He was a retired employee of the Fisher Body Co. with over 35 years of service.
Pat was a member and former trustee of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Greensburg and Fifty year member of Philanthropy Lodge #225 F & AM, and a past member of the Syria Shrine Bagpipe Band and the Valley of Pittsburgh Consistory and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Marching Band and the VFW Post #33 in Greensburg.
Pat was preceded in death besides his parents by his first wife Fern Dunmire Elder and a brother Richard Elder.
Surviving are his wife, Betty K. McGrew Elder and step children Denise McGrew, Dan McGrew and Dawn Tedrow and four step grandchildren and a Sister, Nancy Roddy and husband Dale of Greensburg along with Pat's nephews Patrick, Dale and David Roddy and Gary and James Elder and his special niece Karen Elder Grace..
Family and Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street , Greensburg.
Services will be held in the Funeral Home, Tuesday at 10:30 am with Rev. Aimee Twigg and Rev. Dale Roddy co-officiating.
Interment with full military honors will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery.
Members of Philanthropy Lodge 225 F & AM will conduct Masonic services in the funeral home on Monday at 6 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg Masonic Fund, 349 Donohoe Road, Greensburg, Pa. 15601 .
