Paul J. Springer, 85 of Greensburg, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010. He was born September 21, 1924 in Carroltown a son of the late William and Clara Behe Springer.
Paul retired as Director of Power Stations for Allegheny Energy with 41 years and 9 months service. He attended Cornell University and Swarthmore College and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and served with distinction in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Engineers Club of Western Pennsylvania, the Greensburg Country Club and the Greensburg Rotary Club for many years. Paul enjoyed a great deal of traveling, was an avid reader and was very proud of his art collection.
He is survived by his loving wife Doris Wagner Springer and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Springer and a sister, Rosemarie Maloney.
There will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to Paul's funeral mass to be celebrated on Saturday at 1 pm in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Church, Greensburg. Private interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Arrangements have been entrusted to KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 N. Main St. Greensburg. Terence L.
