Paul Turney

March 29, 1933 — December 4, 2011

Paul William Turney, 78 of Greensburg passed away on 12/4/2011 in the New Haven Court.

He was born in Youngwood on 3/29/1933 and was the son of Jennie Altman Turney Reagan of New Stanton and the late William C. Turney .

Paul was a graduate of the Greensburg High School class of 1952 and had served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death besides his father by a half brother Neal Reagan.

He was a retired employee of the Bell Telephone Company working from 1952 till 1995 and was a life member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers .

Paul was an avid sailor and enjoyed his weekends sailing on Keystone Lake and Moraine State Park. He especially enjoyed his sailing trips on the Chesapeake and Currituck Sound with his entire family. He was also a model train enthusiast and had built an extensive multi-train miniature display in his basement.

Paul loved to travel abroad and his most recent trip was to Greece, Cyprus and Turkey with his wife, daughter and granddaughter.

Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years Dolores Ann (Matenkoski) Turney, his twins Dennis and wife Linda Butter Turney of Mooresville, NC, Denise Ann Turney Morelli and husband Peter Mark Morelli of Cecil and son Douglas Owen Turney and wife Ashley Graves Turney of Oakdale, Ct. Also his grandchildren Michal Morelli, Christopher Turney, Sara Turney, Marissa Morelli, Callie Morelli, twins- Caitlin and Ryan Turney, and Kendall Turney . His half sister Carol Sue Reagan Showman and husband Kenneth.

Family and Friends will be received at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 N. Main Street Greensburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm with additional visitation on Tuesday from 9:30 am till time of a prayer service at 10 am in the funeral home.

Interment with full military honors accorded by the South Greensburg American Legion will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer Disease Research Center Attention: Leslie Dunn, UPMC Montefiore Four West, 20 Lothrop Street, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15213-2582
