Peggy Byers Lockard

Peggy Byers Lockard, 96, formerly of Greensburg, died peacefully Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at INOVA Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria, Virginia. She was born July 10, 1928 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to the late Mary and Harry A. Byers. Mrs. Lockard was devoted to her family and dear friends and was grateful for her many blessings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Lockard; and sisters, DeDe Feightner and Sis Herrington. Peggy is survived by her children, Harry Byers Lockard and wife Kim of Suwanee, Georgia, and Carol Lockard Dickerson and husband Spencer of Alexandria, Virginia; grandchildren, Jason Lockard and wife Chrissy, Sarah Greathouse and husband Travis and Rebecca Dickerson and husband Mathias Heller, as well as four great grandchildren, Lucas, Henry and Grace Greathouse and Isabella Lockard. Family and friends are invited to a service to celebrate Peggy’s life at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church 15 E. Second Street Greensburg, Pennsylvania 15601. Private interment will be held in St. Clair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
