Peter Rubus

Peter C. Rubus, 62 of Greensburg passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital.

He was born Saturday, January 31, 1948 in Natrona Heights, Son of the late John S. Rubus and Edith Mae Rubus.
Peter graduated from Leechburg High School and entered into to Marine Corp. serving in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968 and was at the " HILL 55 KHE SANH" during the war.
He began working for the Schenely Distilleries as a file clerk and later became a field inspector with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms retiring as a senior inspector in 2006 after forty years of service.
He was a member of the South Greensburg American Legion Post 981 and was catholic by faith.
He was preceded in death besides his parents by his father-in-law William Fleming.
Peter was dedicated to his job, he loved his family and was a presence larger than life.
Surviving are his loving wife Deborah Fleming Rubus a daughter Amanda Rubus a grandson Jacob Peter Rubus and two sisters Debby Magee and husband Max and Patty Held and husband Tom his mother-in-law Marjorie Fleming and a brother and sister in law Gary and Maureen Fleming.

Family and Friends will be received at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street Greensburg, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.

A prayer service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday at 10 am with interment service to follow with full military honors accorded by the South Greensburg American Legion in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park..
