Philip K. Evans, 75 of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away, Saturday, August 24, 2013 in Greensburg Care Center. He was born October 13, 1937 in Luxor, PA, son of the late Albert Evans and June (Smail) McClarran. He was a member of the Third United Church of Christ. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1954 where he learned his trade in the Seabees. Phil was self-employed. Phil enjoyed dirt track racing as an avid car owner in the 1960's of the modified and sportsman series. He raced at local tracks including Greater Latrobe Speedway, Jennerstown, Windber, Blanket Hill, William Penn Speedway, Ruffsdale and other Pittsburgh area tracks. Phil belonged to Penn Western Racing Association and remained involved with his son's modified car #38 at Lernerville Speedway until recently.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan (Hensel) Evans, daughter Cindy Ross, son, Philip Evans Jr.; grandchildren, Tracy Ulewicz (Troy), Justin Ross (Ellyn), great-grandchildren, Erin and Evan Ulewicz, Lauryn, Grant and Carly Ross; brother, Thomas Evans and sisters, Susan Townsend and Rebecca Mizak (Dan). Also survived by uncles, Dean and Paul Smail, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his two favorite companions, Daisy and Lily.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 North Main Street Greensburg.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11am with Pastor Brian Geesaman officiating.
